Installation

Made-to-measure products only perform if they’re fitted properly. How we install windows, doors, glass and garden structures.

Why installation matters as much as the product

A beautiful window fitted out of square will never seal properly. A bifold door on a badly detailed threshold will let water in. A pergola on undersized foundations will move. Most problems people have with windows, doors and garden structures come from how they were fitted, not from the product itself. That’s why we survey and fit what we supply ourselves: one company responsible from the first measurement to the last adjustment.

Installation at a glance

  • Preparation: Dust sheets, floor protection and agreed access
  • Fitting: Fixed plumb, level and square to the manufacturer’s method
  • Sealing: Insulation and weather seals around frames
  • Electrics: Connected and certified by a registered electrical contractor
  • Safety: Safety glass where needed. Gate safety devices tested
  • Aftercare: Adjustments and advice after handover

What to expect on installation day

  1. Arrival and protection. We agree where materials go, and cover floors and furniture near the work.
  2. Removal. Old windows, doors or glass come out carefully. We’ll agree at quote stage how old materials are removed and disposed of.
  3. Fitting. Each product is fixed, levelled and adjusted. Windows and doors are insulated and sealed around the frame, and glass is set with the right packers and seals.
  4. Making good. Reveals, trims and silicone are finished, so the job looks complete.
  5. Testing. Every opening sash, door, louvre and gate is checked. Automated products are tested, including their safety devices.
  6. Handover. We show you how everything works and how to look after it, and leave the site clean.

Electrics, structure and other trades

Electrics. Motorised pergolas, shutters, gates and heaters need power. In Ireland, electrical work must be carried out and certified by a registered electrical contractor, and we coordinate this as part of the job.

Structure. New or wider openings for bifold or sliding doors need lintels or steel beams designed by an engineer and built by your builder. We give exact opening sizes and fit once they’re ready.

Working with your builder. On extensions and renovations, we coordinate dates so our work fits the sequence: openings formed, then frames, then plaster and finishes.

Aftercare

Doors and windows settle, and gates and louvres bed in. If something needs a tweak after installation, get in touch. Most adjustments are quick. We’ll also tell you about the simple maintenance that keeps everything working: clear drainage slots, clean tracks, and an annual service for automated gates.

Installation FAQs

Do you remove and dispose of old windows and doors?

We agree this at quote stage. Removal and disposal of old frames and glass is itemised on your quote, so you know exactly what’s included.

Do you do the electrical work for motorised products?

Electrical connections for pergolas, shutters, gates and heaters are made and certified by a registered electrical contractor, as Irish rules require. We coordinate this as part of the installation.

Can you install products I’ve bought elsewhere?

Generally we install what we supply, because then we can stand over the product and the fitting together. Ask us about your specific project.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the job. A front door is usually a day. A house of windows is a day or two. Pergolas and verandas typically take one to two days once foundations are ready. We give you a timescale with your quote.
