Shower glass & bathroom glazing
Shower screens, enclosures and bath screens made to fit the walls you actually have, plus mirrors built for steamy rooms.
Bathroom glass that fits properly
Off-the-shelf shower screens assume square walls, level trays and standard sizes. Real bathrooms rarely have any of the three. That’s why made-to-measure shower glass is worth it: every panel is cut to the walls you’ve got, drilled for the hinges you’ve chosen, and toughened before it leaves us. The result is a shower that looks built in, because it was.
Getting the shower right
Walk-in or enclosure? A walk-in screen (one fixed panel, sometimes with a return) is the easiest to clean and suits larger bathrooms. A door-and-panel enclosure keeps warmth and water in better and suits smaller rooms.
Glass thickness. 8 mm toughened glass suits most screens and doors. 10 mm feels more solid on big frameless panels and heavy hinged doors.
Clear, low-iron or satin? Clear glass makes a small bathroom feel bigger. Low-iron glass looks crisper on thick frameless panels. Satin glass, either as a band or a full panel, gives privacy in shared bathrooms.
Easy-clean coating. A factory-applied coating helps water bead off and slows limescale build-up. It’s well worth having if your water is hard.
Ventilation. Steam that has nowhere to go ends up on the glass, the mirrors and the ceiling. A good extractor matters as much as the screen.
How we measure, make and fit shower glass
- Measure after tiling. We measure when the tray is in and the walls are tiled, because tiles change every dimension.
- Specify. We confirm the glass, hinges, handles, seals and any notches around trays or niches.
- Make. The glass is cut, polished, drilled and toughened. An easy-clean coating is applied if you’ve chosen one.
- Fit. We fix the panels plumb, even when the walls aren’t, and seal them with a mould-resistant silicone.
Shower glass FAQs
What thickness of glass is best for a shower screen?
8 mm toughened glass suits most shower screens and doors. 10 mm is better for large frameless panels and heavier hinged doors, where the extra stiffness feels more solid.
Can you make a shower screen for an out-of-square wall?
Yes. That’s the main reason to go made-to-measure. We measure the actual angles and cut the glass to match, so gaps stay even and seals do their job.
Does an easy-clean coating really work?
It does help. The coating makes water bead and run off, so less limescale and soap residue sticks. It doesn’t replace cleaning, but it makes cleaning much quicker, especially in hard-water areas.
When should a shower screen be measured?
After the tray is fitted and the walls are fully tiled. Measuring before tiling is a common mistake, because tiles and adhesive add thickness that changes the sizes.
How do I stop a glass shower from going cloudy?
Squeegee the glass after each shower, ventilate the room well, and clean weekly with a non-abrasive cleaner. An easy-clean coating and soft water also help a lot.
