Low-iron mirror with true colour reflection in a bright interior

Mirrors

Low-iron mirror

Low-iron mirror gives a brighter, more colour-accurate reflection without the green cast of standard mirror. The premium choice for dressing rooms, salons and design-led interiors.

What is low-iron mirror?

Low-iron mirror is made by silvering low-iron glass instead of standard clear glass. Because the glass has much less iron, it does not add the faint green tint that ordinary mirrors give to reflections, especially in thicker mirrors and when two mirrors face each other.

The result is a brighter, crisper reflection with more accurate skin tones and colours. That matters in dressing rooms, hair and beauty salons, retail changing rooms and anywhere people judge colours in a mirror.

Low-iron mirror is processed in the same way as silver mirror: it can be cut, shaped, drilled, polished and safety backed.

Low-iron mirror specification

  • 4 and 6 mm low-iron mirror
  • Copper-free silvering
  • Polished and bevelled edges
  • Holes and template shapes
  • Safety backing film available

How we supply low-iron mirror

  1. Confirm sizes. Send dimensions, edge finish and any holes or cut-outs.
  2. Cut and finish. The low-iron mirror is cut and the edges polished to a bright finish.
  3. Back if needed. Safety film is applied for wardrobes, gyms and large panels.
  4. Deliver. Mirrors are packed flat and protected for transport.

When to choose low-iron mirror

Choose low-iron mirror when colour accuracy really matters: salons, make-up areas, clothing retail and photography studios. It is also worth it for infinity-style installations where two mirrors face each other, because the green tint builds up with every reflection.

For everyday wall mirrors, standard silver mirror is perfectly good and costs less. If you are unsure, ask to see low-iron mirror and standard mirror side by side.
